What are the Proposed Development Plans?
~
DRAFT BRIDGING ISLAND PLAN
Many of you will be aware from reading the JEP on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April that there are plans to rezone two large green fields in the Five Oaks area. There are also plans to build on a brown field site in Longueville.
Green fields must be saved for future generations and should not be rezoned whilst there are other brown field sites available and existing buildings that can be repurposed.
We are very concerned that if this is allowed to go ahead we will lose more of the parish countryside, both fields are good agricultural land and just because one of them is hidden from view doesn’t mean we need to rezone.
Further development in this area will have a huge impact on traffic on an already busy road. We are at gridlock between 7am and 9am and again at school kick out time through to 6pm.
St Saviour has been hit time and time again with housing and has taken more than its fair share of the Islands housing and schools. We were told the green field used for the Langtry Garden development would be the last one taken ... didn’t last long.
St Saviour would have greatest impact and majority of build will be in one small area. To put it into context listed below is the proposed plan:
If you are just as unhappy about the draft bridging island plan as other Parishioners please join us in our campaign. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - OUR PARISH IS FULL!
Once this land is gone it is gone forever and we can't get it back ... please encourage others to join too.
